Kinetic Chain Release (KCR)

Kinetic Chain Release (KCR) - Restore Balance and Alignment for Optimal Well-being

Welcome to Cotswold Sports & Beauty Therapy in Gloucester, where we are delighted to introduce our new service, Kinetic Chain Release (KCR).

What is Kinetic Chain Release?

Developed by Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert, KCR is a simple yet highly effective system of mobilizations and stretches designed to bring the physical body back into balance and alignment, addressing leg length discrepancies and promoting overall well-being.

Experience the transformative power of KCR as it gently releases tension in key joints through a protocol of specific stretches. By allowing your body to release restrictions, KCR enables you to return to your natural alignment, improving your posture and restoring balance to your everyday movements. The positive effects extend beyond posture, positively influencing other bodily systems such as digestion and the nervous system, promoting harmony and improved functionality.

Who can benefit from KCR?

The beauty of this technique is that absolutely anyone can benefit from it. From small children to the elderly, fitness professionals to office workers, KCR offers both corrective and maintenance benefits. Even if you believe there is nothing to "fix," there is always room for maintenance and enhancement of your overall well-being.

Before considering a KCR session, please note that there are a few contraindications. KCR should be avoided after the first trimester of pregnancy, have osteogenesis imperfecta, or have had a stroke within the last 12 months (a doctor's clearance is required). If you have recently undergone surgery and are still under the care of a surgeon or consultant, their clearance is needed before receiving KCR treatment. In all cases, we prioritize your safety and well-being, proceeding in line with your individual limitations.

What can you expect from a KCR treatment at Cotswold Sports & Beauty Therapy?

During the session, you will remain fully clothed in loose and comfortable attire. The treatment will involve you being seated on the couch. We will assess for any leg length discrepancies and then proceed to mobilize and release specific joints and muscles in your body, starting from the ankles and progressing through the body. At the end of the treatment, we will reassess to determine if the leg length discrepancy has been corrected. Rest assured, the KCR treatment is non-invasive, painless, and suitable for all ages.

Session Duration and Cost

A KCR session typically lasts approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, providing holistic care for the whole person rather than focusing solely on specific symptoms. The cost of each session is £60, offering you a valuable investment in your overall well-being.
