ULTRASOUND THERAPY TREATMENT
Ultrasound Therapy Treatment is a non-invasive, pain-free modality with little or no sensation felt while receiving treatment. Ultrasound is commonly used to treat injuries of the tendons, ligaments & muscles. Ultrasound equipment generates high-frequency sound waves that are transferred to a specific body area via the transducer head (round-headed probe). A hypoallergenic gel is applied to the skin which creates a friction-free surface. The sound waves travel deep into the tissues which creates a gentle heat. Using gentle, circular motions with the transducer head & the treatment can last several minutes. The benefits of ultrasound for injury treatment are a deep heating effect, increased rate of tissue repair & reduced pain & muscle tightness.
If you require ultrasound for your injury, I will include it within your treatment. If it is just ultrasound you require, you will be assessed.
