Dry Needling is used for the treatment of trigger points, hypertonicity and musculoskeletal pain, and having a local twitch response are elicited which is probably due to the
rapid depolarisation of the involved muscle fibres, which manifests as local twitches.
Acupuncture is an important part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and it has shown to have a positive effect on the body and brain, including the endocrine, immune, sympathetic and
parasympathetic nervous systems. Although the mechanisms are unknown, it may also act through electrical and mechanical signalling through connective tissue and fascia.
