Dry Needling and Medical Acupuncture for Women’s Health is a fantastic treatment to help women who suffer with Dysmenorrhea, PCOS, Endometriosis, PMDD, Perimenopause, Menopause and Post Menopausal symptoms. This treatment is also great for Postpartum related conditions such as Diastasis Recti Abdominis, Postpartum depression, Post Pelvic Girdle Pain (PPGP). As women’s health-related conditions are a very broad subject, with mechanisms related to reproduction, endocrinology, immunology, neurology, and the musculoskeletal and biodynamic systems.

This treatment has been designed to rejuvenate and restore vitality, while addressing women’s health concerns. Dry Needling and Medical Acupuncture is a time for some relaxation and self-care. This treatment uses Dry Needling techniques to help reduce pain and tension in the musculoskeletal system, combined with Acupuncture to stimulate blood flow and Qi. By working on these Acupoints and trigger points combined together will help to balance and restore the body, mind and spirit.

Dry Needling is effective in treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction and can have an analgesic effect on a number of conditions that are related to women’s health in the musculoskeletal system and with painful systems. Dry Needling is used for the treatment of trigger points, hypertonicity and musculoskeletal pain, and having a local twitch response are elicited which is probably due to the
rapid depolarisation of the involved muscle fibres, which manifests as local twitches.

Acupuncture is an important part of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and it has shown to have a positive effect on the body and brain, including the endocrine, immune, sympathetic and
parasympathetic nervous systems. Although the mechanisms are unknown, it may also act through electrical and mechanical signalling through connective tissue and fascia.

Having acupuncture may help ease women’s health-related issues such as reducing hot flushes, sleep disturbances, reduce excess sweating, fatigue, menstrual cramps, painful periods, irregularity, irritability, nausea, overactive bladder, insomnia, mood swings, headaches, migraines, brain fog, heart palpitations, pain in muscles and joints, dry and itchy skin, less desire for sex, dryness, itchiness and discomfort in the vagina, recurrent UTIs and many more.

This treatment is not suitable for pregnancy and is seen as contraindicated due to the qualification not specialising in pregnancy. If you are pregnant and needing some help with symptoms, I recommend you to see a Traditional Chinese Acupuncturist. I can recommend someone

if you need this.
